Re: Plaque Unveiling Confirmed
It seems that the Belfast City Council have at long last relented and are financing the Blue Plaque which Ruby is fully entitle to. The naming of the local Park seems to have been lost completely. There will be quite a lot happening in Ruby's name in the coming weeks and months and that pleases me g...

Re: Plaque Unveiling Confirmed
Dear Friends I have been informed that a Blue Plaque for Ruby is in the prossess of being sited in Belfast but not in Moltyke Street (Ruby's birthplace), apparently there isn't a Number 84 where Ruby was born... The Blue Plaque body of people are considering a prominent site in the main area of the ...

Re: Renewed Interest in Ruby
With the passing of time, we, who used to be young enthusiastic young men, find that our lives have changed slowly but inevitably and our youthful interests have waned gradually and have faded into the past. So it is with our beloved Ruby's website. No longer do we have regular postings from entusia...

Re: Meeting with Bernie
I have just listened to Ruby singing 'Galway Bay' on 'Desert Island Discs'. I confess that the older I get the more touched I become whilst listening to Ruby singing on her many discs. I get overwhelmed by emotions and have to pinch myself and stop feeling her presence whilst listening to her voice....

Re: Meeting with Bernie

Re: Meeting with Bernie
I was hoping that one or two readers of these postings might decide to post their comments, sadly no-one has. It's a little disheartening to both Gerald and myself . . .

Re: Meeting with Bernie
Gerald, What a great posting you have made. It was equally a great pleasure for me to be able to talk 'RUBY' to someone who has always been a devoted fan of Ruby's and a valuable friend of mine. I was pleased to be able to hand over Ruby's DOTS to someone who can play them. I am sure that you will c...

Re: Renewed Interest in Ruby
The Playwright, Michael Cameron, has flown to England to see friends in Lutterworth and has called to visit me to update me regarding the lastest situation with his play. He is very enthusiastic about the fact that it has already been booked into an Arts Theatre in Belfast, 'The Mac Theatre', for a ...

Re: Renewed Interest in Ruby
I have heard from Michael Cameron (the writer of the stage play) and he tells me that the girl who did the reading received a standing ovation by those attending, apparently that is unheard of. It was also revealed that the show will appear for a week in the latter end of the year at The Mac Theatre...

Re: Renewed Interest in Ruby
The latest news regarding the proposed play in Belfast is that a 'Reading' is planned to take place in the next few days. According to Michael Cameron, the writer, many influential people are planning to to be at the 'Reading'. To be honest I still have reservations about it being a one act play wit...
