Tommy Cooper/Ruby

Post by Graham Bunn »

It seems like others because I am known to be a Ruby Murray fan I get passed on to me all kinds of Cuttings and newspapers from friends.

The latest is an article which appears in "The Weekly News" dated the 28th October 2006.

It seems that Tommy Coopers life story has been put into book form called "Always Leave Them Laughing" .

Although there is no mention of Ruby in the article there is a nice photograph of Ruby and Tommy taken in 1958 at Yarmouth.......I think most of us fans have seen this photo before but it has been published in quite a nice size.

If you see the book about it may be interesting to look in the index and see if Ruby has been mentioned in it.

Best Wishes
Graham

That brings back memories, Graham. I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Tommy Cooper, by Ruby, backstage at the North Pier, Blackpool, in 1957. Nice guy - enormous hands!

She also introduced me to somebody called Bernie Burgess or something -
always wondered what happened to him?????????????

This is quite a coincidence, because someone I know has sent me through the post this morning a copy of the article itself. Haven't had time to read it yet, but did notice the nice picture of Ruby on Tommy's back.
