When looking at Rubys recorded material the name Paddy Roberts seems to crop up a lot.
Did Paddy send songs to Ruby for her approval to record?
Did Paddy write only the words or could he write music as well?
Lastly I remember well a Paddy Roberts who sang comedy songs is this the same man.?
I'm sure someone out there knows the answers.

With regard to your queries about Paddy Roberts. He was very frequently connected to Ruby's recordings but mostly his songs would be submitted to Ruby by her A & R men, firstly Ray Martin and after Ray's departure to America- Norrie Paramor. Paddy did write both lyrics and music but not on all of his songs that Ruby eventually recorded. You are correct, he did record some of his own comedy songs.
