Lyrics for Irish songs

Post by rbl.ca »

I suppose that many music lovers in the UK have long known the lyrics to all the old Irish songs that Ruby and many others have sung, but for us over here in Canada the words are not 'engraved' in our memories. Most of the lyrics in Ruby's songs are clear, but I have trouble making out a word or phrase here and there.
Would somebody please post the lyrics, in the LIBRARY, to "Teddy O'Neill", "Dear Ol' Donegal" and all the other wonderful Irish songs that Ruby sang so that I, with just a few drops of Irish blood in me, can confidently sing along?

Note: although I'm French Canadian on my father's side, my maternal grandfather (Algernon Taylor) was Irish, so I'm 1/4 Irish.

Hello Ralph,

I,m away from home until November 7th. If no-one beats me to it in the meantime I will send you the lyrics to the songs that you have requested when I return. You will be able to sing away until your heart is content then.

Keep up the rehearsals. Adios Amigo. Bernie
