Re: Recording Dates

Bernie - contact EMI Archives and request the info. They did this for me a few years ago, the lady I spoke to was called Sonita Cox.

It would be nice to have exact dates for the EMI years - and all the data is likely to exist, as EMI kept good records.

Re: Recording Dates

EMI must have the recording sheets in their archives. If someone gets in touch and requests the info, they will photocopy the papers you request for a small fee.

Ruby on TV

Hello everyone, I hope I'm not repeating information here, but since interest in Ruby's TV appearances has been piqued by the David Whitfield DVD, here's some information: http://ftvdb.bfi.org.uk/sift/individual/266737 'Filmography' shows her credits. This link shows the large amount that is, sadly,...

She sings 'O'Malley's Tango' in it? Love that song - reason enough to buy!

Are that and 'In Love' the only songs performed in it?

A TOUCH OF THE SUN on DVD!

To my surprise, whilst browsing the new DVD releases list online, I found Ruby's sole acting role has made it to DVD in the past month. See here for details on how to buy:

What happened to Anne Warren?

The girl who sang on 'If Anyone Finds This I Love You'. I wonder if she is still alive. Anyone know?

At least all Ruby's early recordings have already been on CD, so these companies will be just going over old ground, rather than issuing unreleased tracks in bad quality.

It's another out of copyright release. Nothing to do with EMI.

Recording Dates

Shame EMI didn't deem it possible to include them on the Anniversary set.

Since that is Ruby's recordings for them done and dusted on CD, wonder if they would let us have details of her recording sessions? Hardly any harm in it. Bernie or Tim would surely be entitled to them ;)

Chronological Discography

An excellent piece of work, Gerald. But is there any chance of an update? I don't think the last two tracks from the Golden Anniversary set are on there.

Good point, Brian. If they are including 1956 tracks, they are jumping the gun rather a lot and the CD is illegal. Pegasus did something even worse recently - a CD compilation pertaining to be Petula Clark 'Live'. However, it was soon discovered that the tracks were just late 60s Pye studio recordin...

Re: Dear Daddy. YES it was written by Joe Henderson for Petula Clark about the relationship with her father, which was somewhat difficult, as he controlled her career and eventually in 1957 she grew tired of it, and decided she wanted a father and not a manager. It was released as a single by Pet in...
