A Touch of the Sun
I just ordered a copy of this DVD from Amazon.co.uk. I will not be able to watch it on my US DVD player because it is a region 2 DVD. However, I can watch DVDs for any region on my computer. It is not my preferred method for watching a movie, but it is better than nothing, and I do not want to miss ...
iTunes
I have 48 of Ruby's songs on my iPod. I need to add the songs from the box set onto it. To any of you on this site who do not have an iPod yet, I highly recommend getting one! The best thing is that you can buy a docking station, which turns the iPod into a small stereo, and listen to the music with...

Question about "The Kellys"
Martin - Thank you for your response. So I guess I heard it right. However, in the song the singer is searching for Pa Kelly in New York. Does anyone know if there was a hotel or some other place in New York called Arklow House? Is the punchline that it would not be surprising for Pa Kelly to be at ...

Question about "The Kellys"
I enjoy Ruby's recording of "The Kellys," but I have always had difficulty understanding a word or two in the very last line. Where is it that Pa Kelly is found? It sounds to me like "our clohouse" or "our clohousher" or something like that, which does not make sense to me. Am I not hearing it corre...

Plaque Information Change
Gerald,
Thank you for the information. I really wasn't sure if Ulster Hall was the City Hall.

Plaque Information Change
I would think that having the plaque outside is a positive move. Definitely more people walk past city hall (I take it that Belfast Hall is the city hall - but maybe I'm wrong) than go inside, so more people will see it.

The link I just provided for GEMM is incorrect, and will not work if you click on it. I accidentally included a comma in place of a period. The following should work: www.gemm.com.

Marginal CDs can be difficult to find. However, eBay is a good source. In fact, I just purchased a copy of Maureen's CD from that site. Another site that offers this particular CD is www.gemm.com, although the prices for it are a bit higher than what I found on eBay. This is not always the case with...

Plaque Unveiling Confirmed
This is wonderful news. I have always wanted to visit Ireland, and this would be a perfect reason to do so. Unfortunately, I cannot make it over there at that time, but on the big day I will be thinking of Ruby and the ceremony and all of you who will be there.

I have seen the Edna Savage CD on Vocalion, but I did not know anything about her. Thanks to this board, I think I will need to purchase it. If she sounds even a little like Ruby than she must have been good.
What songs was she most known for? Also, how long-lived was her career?

Ronnie Carroll Interview in "In Tune International"
The December 2005 issue of "In Tune International" features an interview with Ronnie Carroll. It features a nice photo of Ronnie dancing with Ruby. He also talks about how Dan Murray, Ruby's father, gave him a break as a singer when he suggested he sing some songs at the Ulster Hall.

What happened to the "It's the Irish In Me" CD?
Months ago I ordered the "It's the Irish In Me" CD from amazon.co.uk. It had been on backorder until today, when I received a message that they have "been unable to source" it. I think that with all of my other Ruby Murray CDs, including the recent box set, "The Magic of," and the two-on-one Irish C...
