I would say MOST unusual. Maybe it's me but I fail to see the connection.

I agree totally but I wonder why the artist chose Ruby and as you say where apart from the name is the connection. ?

It is to me just an artist advertising her paintings.
If you scroll down you can read these words
Ruby Murray was a singer and actress from Belfast, Northern Ireland. She is represented in this playful print as a large shining ruby jewel.
That is about as far as the connection goes, in my opinion! She goes on to say she has drawn Cyd Charisse but again for no obvious reason.
