Hi Folks,
There is an article on Ruby in "The Weekly News" dated 1st March 2008.

It is in the section "You Ask" We Answer.......Against a photo of Ruby runs the headline
RUBYS REMARKABLE RUN.
Does singer Ruby Murray still hold the record for the most songs in the Top 20 in one week?

Ruby still holds the record.She had five songs in the Top 20 simultaneously during one week in March 1955.

That year he had at least one single in the charts for 52 weeks without a break.

Bernie you will be pleased to see that Madonna has not been mentioned.
I guess I would not be far wrong to state that everyone who owned a gramaphone(thats what they were called) in 1955 had at least one of Rubys recordings.
This just goes to show how she won the nations heart and I dont think there has ever been another artist who could claim such fame.
