Airtime,

Hello Friends,
I have just had a very pleasant visit from Gerald (Lawrence). We both enjoyed a number of days going through photos, memorabilia, and playing records whilst reminiscing about days gone by, a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Amongst the topics that we discussed was 'airtime' for Ruby's newly released CDs. It has always been an extremely difficult task, trying to get exposure for any records by sending in requests to the various programmes. Because of the vast numbers of records that are released each week, airtime becomes very restricted and priority lists come into play, which inevitably means red hot favourites take the bulk of the places.
There are the rare possiblities of the odd play on specialised stations/programmes, i.e Saga (who apparently have played a track from Ruby's boxed set recently,) but even then, there is only a remote chance of winning a slot. I still feel that if we all concentrate our efforts on the local stations in sufficient numbers we might gain the attention of the national programmes. Perhaps if friends/fans took up the cause and plagued their local stations in sufficient numbers we just might get a break through.
Brian Henson sent me a very interesting email recently- listing possible programmes. I will try to persuade him to place his thoughts on the messageboard. If anyone hears a track or two being played on radio -perhaps they would let us all know?
I would also like to try to persuade the friends/fans to respond to enteries on the messageboard because there are a few dedicated fans who fail to get any response when placing comments etc on the website. Inevitably they will begin to loose enthusiasm for the task which would be a great shame, so come on friends - participate and make their day,
Adios Amigos Bernie
